- Children need to be supervised when riding a bike. Children cannot be expected to act safely on a bike or exercise good judgment on a bike until about the age of 10.
- Children should not ride in the road until they fully understand that their bicycle is a vehicle and they understand traffic rules and have demonstrated they can follow them.
- The safest places for children to ride are: on the sidewalk, at the playground, in the park,
not in the street.
- Children learn from watching their parents. Set a good example by following safety precautions when riding with your child.

Just because the training wheels are off doesn't mean children are ready to ride alone.
